Metaheuristic approaches for the two-machine flow-shop problem with weighted late work criterion and common due date

چکیده
In this paper, metaheuristic approaches for the two-machine flow shop problem with a common due date and the weighted late work performance measure (F2|dj=d|Yw) are presented. The late work criterion estimates the quality of a solution with regard to the duration of the late parts of jobs, not taking into account the quantity of the delay for the fully late activities. Since, the problem mentioned is known to be NP-hard, three trajectory methods, namely simulated annealing, tabu search and variable neighborhood search are proposed based on the special features of the case under consideration. Then, the results of computational experiments are reported, in which the metaheuristics were compared one to each other, as well to an exact approach and a list scheduling algorithm.

Dominance relations for two-machine flow shop problem with late work criterion
The paper concerns the two-machine non-preemptive flow shop scheduling problem with a total late work criterion and a common due date (F2|dj = d|Y ). The late work performance measure estimates the quality of a solution with regard to the duration of late parts of activities performed in the system, not taking into account the quantity of this delay. In the paper, a few theorems are formulated ...
متن کاملScheduling on flexible flow shop with cost-related objective function considering outsourcing options
This study considers outsourcing decisions in a flexible flow shop scheduling problem, in which each job can be processed by either an in-house production line or outsourced. The selected objective function aims to minimize the weighted sum of tardiness costs, in-house production costs, and outsourcing costs with respect to the jobs due date. The purpose of the problem is to select the jobs tha...
متن کاملElectromagnetism-like algorithm for fuzzy flow shop batch processing machines scheduling to minimize total weighted earliness and tardiness
In this paper, we study a flow shop batch processing machines scheduling problem. The fuzzy due dates are considered to make the problem more close to the reality. The objective function is taken as the weighted sum of fuzzy earliness and fuzzy tardiness. In order to tackle the given problem, we propose a hybrid electromagnetism-like (EM) algorithm, in which the EM is hybridized with a diversi...
متن کاملComparing Mixed-Integer and Constraint Programming for the No-Wait Flow Shop Problem with Due Date Constraints
The impetus for this research was examining a flow shop problem in which tasks were expected to be successively carried out with no time interval (i.e., no wait time) between them. For this reason, they should be completed by specific dates or deadlines. In this regard, the efficiency of the models was evaluated based on makespan. To solve the NP-Hard problem, we developed two mathematical mode...
متن کاملParticle swarm optimization for minimizing total earliness/tardiness costs of two-stage assembly flowshop scheduling problem in a batched delivery system
This paper considers a two-stage assembly flow shop scheduling problem. When all parts of each product are completed in the first stage, they are assembled into a final product on an assembly machine in the second stage. In order to reduce the delivery cost, completed products can be held until completion of some other products to be delivered in a same batch. The proposed problem addresses sch...
